Un mese e un giorno fa, ha avuto luogo la terza edizione del Romantic Remembrance Gala. So che sono in ritardo con questo report, ma sono stata un po' presa ultimamente, scusatemi! Comunque, è accaduto tutto a San Pellegrino Terme, un posto molto suggestivo da dove, ovviamente, arriva l'acqua San Pellegrino! Io, il mio ragazzo e la nostra amica Francesca siamo arrivati sabato mattina dal momento che avevamo prenotato una camera in uno degli alberghi vicini all'evento. Abbiamo fatto un giro, pranzato e incontrato per caso Thomas, amico e fotografo di gran talento (sono certa che lo conoscete!).
Nel pomeriggio era il momento di iniziare a prepararsi! La preparazione delle Ladies è stata la più lunga, ovviamente, dato che dovevamo vestirci, fare i capelli e il trucco. Faceva veramente caldo ed era come ci sciogliessimo con la nostra pelle "ceronata" e gli abiti a maniche lunghe!! Dio benedica i ventagli!!! La location era davvero vicina e qui abbiamo anche incontrato la nostra nuova amica, Lara, nel suo stupendo abito Regency. Il Casinò era davvero meraviglioso, sia fuori che dentro, specialmente le bellissime scalinate e il soffito! Siamo entrati dopo una grande introduzione e mentre aspettavamo abbiamo ammirato la bellezza che ci circondava. Le nostre "padrone di casa", Arianna & Alessandra registravano tutti gli ospiti, che stavano in fila in una coda lunghissima, c'erano tantissime persone quest'anno! Prima dell'inizio del Gala, c'era anche la possibilità di diventare membro di Old Souls (prima Victorian & Romantic Italian Revival, ora associazione culturale).
Quando siamo potuti salire di sopra ci siamo accorti quanto questo posto fosse grande, con una sala da ballo (usata dopo anche per lo show di danza, la lotteria e il premio per i Migliori Costumi) e due terrazze, con una vista stupenda su San Pellegrino.
La cena è stata servita a buffet, con antipasti, primi piatti e una selezione di dessert. Sfortunatamente, non c'erano molte tavolate rotonde come gli anni precedenti, quindi con gli abiti enormi risultava un po' scomodo prendere da mangiare e poi cercare posto a sedere. Alcuni hanno cenato fuori e con il sole che tramontava, era davvero suggestivo.
Più tardi ci sono stati il premio per Miglior Costume (sia femminile che maschile), la lotteria (ma non ho vinto XD) e una performance di danza.

La serata ci è scivolata tra le dita molto velocemente, chiacchierando, ballando ed incontrando amici :) Quando siamo andati via, non ci siamo neanche accorti che stava piovendo, il tempo era stato clemente fino a quel momento, forse ci stava dicendo che la favola era finita..
Mi sono davvero divertita durante questa terza edizione e sono sempre contenta di ammirare gli sforzi di ogni persona che partecipa, l'organizzazione e la passione di tutti.
Notturni arriva questo sabato e sono pronta a rivivere ancora queste emozioni! :)
p.s. Il mio abito, Garnet Queen, pesa quasi 3kg, durante la produzione ci sono stati momenti di sconforto ma anche di gioia per ciò che stavamo realizzando, questo vestito li vale davvero tutti. Un ringraziamento speciale a mia Mamma.

One month and a day ago, the 3rd edition of the Romantic Remembrance Gala took place. I know I'm late with this report but, lately I've been a bit busy, I'm sorry! Anyway, it all happened in San Pellegrino Terme, a beautiful place where, of course, San Pellegrino water comes from! My boyfriend, our friend Francesca and I arrived there Saturday morning as we booked a room in one of the Hotels near the venue. We took a walk around, had lunch and met by chance, Thomas, a friend and talented photographer (I'm pretty sure you know him!).
In the afternoon it was about time to get ready! Ladies' preparation was the longest, obviously, because we had to get dressed, have our hair and make up done. The weather was really hot and it was like we were melting with our kind of greasepaint pale skin and long sleeved dresses!! God bless fans!!! The location was really close and here we also met our new friend, Lara, in her beautiful Regency dress. The Casino was really stunning, both outside and inside, especially the beautiful stairs and the ceiling! We entered after a great introduction and while we were waiting we appreciated the beauty all around. Our hosts, Arianna & Alessandra registered all guests, who stood in a very long queue, there were many people this year! Before the beginning of the Gala, there was also the chance of becoming a member of Old Souls (previously Victorian & Romantic Italian Revival, now cultural association).
When we were able to move upstairs we realized that this place was really big, with a dancing hall (later used also for a dancing show, the ruffle and Best Costumes award) and two patios, with a great view over San Pellegrino.
Dinner was served by buffet and we had appetizers, main courses and a selection of desserts. Unfortunately, there weren't many round tables as the previous years, so with huge dresses it was a bit uncomfortable taking food and then looking for a chair. Some had dinner outside and with the sun setting, it was really suggestive.
Later, we had the award for Best Costume (both female and male), the ruffle (but I didn't win XD) and a dance performance.

The evening slipped through our fingers very quickly, chatting, dancing and meeting friends :) When we left we didn't even realize that it was raining, the weather had been clement 'til that very moment, maybe it was telling us that the fairytale was over..
I really enjoyed myself during this third edition and I'm always delighted to see the efforts of every person who attends, the organization and everyone's dedication.
Notturni comes this Saturday and I'm ready to live these emotions again! :)
p.s My dress, Garnet Queen, weights almost 3kg, during the making there were moments of discomfort but also of joy for what we were realizing, this dress is really worth every bit. A special thanks to my Mum.
