Victorian and Steampunk Christmas - 15.12.2013

Bonsoir! :)
Ieri io e il mio ragazzo siamo andati a Milano (dopo molta indecisione perché lui era quasi malato!) dove ha avuto luogo l'evento Victorian & Steampunk Christmas! C'erano molte attività nella zona dei Navigli, anche una sfilata/contest ma purtroppo l'ho persa! :( Spero abbiano fatto foto così posso vederle! Comunque, abbiamo visitato la zona e poi il mercatino che avevano preparato, all'interno di una vecchia "corte" milanese. Ho comprato qualche cosuccia (ovviamente sapete che ho le mani bucate -.-") di cui ora vi mostrerò la foto!

Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to Milan (after a big amount of indecision because he was almost ill!) where it took place the Victorian & Steampunk Christmas event! There were many activities in the Navigli area, even a fashion show/contest but, unfortunately I missed it! :( I hope they took pics so I can see them! Anyway, we visited the area and then the market that they have prepared, inside an old Milanese "court". I bought a few things (of course you know I'm a spendthrift -.-") and I'm going to show you a picture!

Le prime cose che ho comprato sono state la collana col gufo e la collana con la teiera di cristallo verde, sono di "Capricci di Carta", il loro bigliettino è dentro quella piccola bottiglietta! E' stata un'idea molto carina! :) Poi, ci siamo diretti ad un altro stand e ho trovato quell'anello d'argento, con un giglio e quei bei ciondoli, vedete che si riferiscono all'opera di Poe "Il Corvo" che adoro! <3 Tutte queste cose sono di "Eleuteria's Art". Infine, quando siamo saliti di sopra, abbiamo trovato questa ragazza carinissima e gentile (mi ricordava una Pin Up Steampunk!) di SP573, che crea gioielleria Steampunk, collarini, spille ecc ecc e mi sono innamorata di quell'anello d'argento con cristallo verde! Anche perché può andar bene con la mia idea outfit per il prossimo Gala! Ne abbiamo anche parlato e forse verrà anche lei! Alla fine della giornata ero ormai senza soldi ma felice XD C'erano anche un sacco di altre cose che mi piacevano: maschere, pizzi e cose di cartoleria!!!
Sfortunatamente, non sono riuscita ad incontrare Chiara, che ha organizzato l'evento, ma sono sicura che la prossima volta ne avrò l'occasione ;)
Prima di tornare ho fatto una foto al Naviglio Grande:

The first things that I bought were the owl necklace and the green crystal teapot necklace, they're from "Capricci di Carta", their card is inside that tiny bottle! It was a very nice idea! :) Then, we moved to another stall and I found that silver ring, with a lily on it, and those cute pendants, you can see that they refer to Poe's work "The Raven" that I adore! <3 All these things by "Eleuteria's Art". Finally, when we moved upstairs, we found this very cute and nice girl (she reminded me of a Steampunk Pin Up!) from SP573, that creates Steampunk jewellery, chokers, brooches and so on, and I fell in love with that green crystal and silver ring! Also because it could fit with my outfit idea for the next Gala! We even talked about it and maybe she will come too! At the end of the day I was completely broke but happy XD there were also a lot of other things that I liked: masks, laces and stationery stuff!!!
Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet Chiara, who organized this event but, I'm sure next time I'll have the chance ;)

Hello my Victorians!

Dicembre sta arrivando e l'anno sta volgendo al termine, così ho deciso di scrivere questa entry sui prossimi eventi che finora sono stati rivelati... Little Review: Lady Sloth, Secret Shop, Fanplusfriend

Hello my Victorians!!!!
Questa sarà una review multipla, dal momento che ho ricevuto qualche cosuccia nelle ultime settimane! Iniziamo con il Lady Baroque Op di Lady Sloth! Ho scelto la versione nera e bianca, l'ho preordinato ad Agosto e ci ha messo davvero tantissimo ad arrivare, ma quando è arrivato sono stata contentissima e davvero impressionata dalla qualità! E' fatto su misura e credo mi stia abbastanza bene!

This is going to be a multiple review, since I received a few things in the last weeks! Let's start with the Lady Baroque Op by Lady Sloth! I chose the black x white version, I preordered it in August and it really took a lot to arrive but when it arrived I was really happy and impressed about the quality! It's custom size and it fits me well enough I think!

Ed ora un cappotto! L'ho ordinato da Fanplusfriend più di un mese fa, è la prima volta che ordino un cappotto per il lolita ed ero in dubbio per la taglia, fortunatamente mi sta bene, forse è solo un pò grande di busto! Comunque, mi piaceva anche perché mi ricordava uno dei miei cappotti preferiti di MMM che dubito avrò mai XD E' di lana, ma sfortunatamente, lana leggera quindi non credo che potrò metterlo se quest'inverno fa troppo freddo ç_ç

And now it's time for a coat! I've ordered this one by Fanplusfriend more than a month ago, it's the first time that I order a coat for lolita and I was in doubt about the size, luckily it fits me well, maybe the bust is just a bit big! Anyway, I liked it also because it remembered me one of my favourite coats by MMM that I hardly think I will ever have XD It's made of wool but, unfortunately, thin wool, so I don't think I will be able to wear it if this winter is too cold ç_ç

E per finire un paio di scarpe! Le Tea Party di Secret Shop! Ordinate da Clobba. E' il mio primo paio, ero scettica all'inizio, ho sempre pensato andassero bene solo con outfit sweet lolita, ma poi ripensandoci vedevo la versione nera come più scura e "meno sweet" e mi sono convinta, anche grazie a Lisa e Giulia!^^ La qualità è buona e sono abbastanza comode! Taglia LL (24.5cm)

Finally, a pair of shoes! Tea Party shoes by Secret Shop! Ordered from Clobba. It's my first pair, I was skeptical at the beginning, I've always thought that they matched only with sweet lolita outfits but, then on second thought I looked at the black version as darker and "less sweet" and I became convinced, also thanks to Lisa and Giulia!^^ The quality is good and they're quite comfortable! Size LL (24.5cm)

Lolydream Contest@Cinisello Balsamo (Mi) - 13.10.2013

Domenica ho partecipato al Primo Lolydream Contest che ha avuto luogo vicino Milano. E' stato detto molto riguardo questo contest che sono ormai così stufa di leggere tutti quei commenti.. Per me è stata un'occasione per vestire Lolita dopo molto tempo e incontrare alcuni amici, ci siamo divertiti anche se il contest è stato criticato! Comunque, sapete cosa diceva Oscar Wilde? C'è solo una cosa peggiore al mondo del fatto che si parli di te ed è che non si parli di te, pensateci! :)

On Sunday I attended the 1st Lolydream Contest that took place near Milan. A lot has been said about this contest that I'm so tired of reading all those comments now.. For me it was an opportunity for wearing Lolita after a long time and meet some friends, we enjoyed ourselves even if the contest has been criticized! Anyway, do you know what Oscar Wilde said? There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about, so think about it! :)

Little Review: Gothic Windows Skirt by Restyle

Hello my Victorians!

La scorsa settimana ho ricevuto dopo circa una settimana e mezza la gonna della Restyle che avevo in wishlist da tempo (infatti era sold out e ora è tornata!), è la versione midi, ma c'è anche la versione lunga molto più EGA che lolita...La gonna è di cotone, la stampa è composta da vetrate con gli angeli ed è un progetto grafico di Euflonica.

 Last week I've received after a week and a half the skirt by Restyle that I had in my wishlist since a while (indeed it was sold out and now it's back!), it's the midi version but, there's also the long version, more EGA than lolita... The skirt is made of cotton, the print is made up of stained glasses with angels and it's a graphic project by Euflonica.

Penso vada molto bene per il gothic lolita e come ho sempre detto, se è di buona qualità vale davvero la pena comprare! XD Anche le misure sono giuste, il problema è che ora ho perso un pò di peso e quindi è un pochino larga ma posso facilmente aggiustarla! Poi, dovrebbe essere una gonna al ginocchio, ma su di me è più lunga, grazie al cielo esistono le petty e i tacchi! XD

I think it's very good for gothic lolita and as I have always said, if it's good quality it's really worth buying! XD Even the measurements are right, the problem is that now I've lost a bit of weight so it's a bit large but I can easily fix it! Then, it's supposed to be a knee-length skirt but, it goes longer on me, thank goodness we have petticoats and heels! XD

Little Review: Castle Innocent OP by Fanplusfriend

Hello my Victorians!

Un paio di giorni fa ho ricevuto il mio ordine da Fanplusfriend! Ho ordinato il Castle Innocent Op in navy x argento + headbow abbinato, è la loro serie nuova e devo dire che la stampa mi piace davvero tanto! Ho fatto qualche foto così posso farvi vedere! La stampa ha una carrozza, un castello (ovviamente!), un unicorno, alcuni folletti o fatine e così via, ma uno dei dettagli che mi piace di più è il cervo! Mi ricorda il Patronus di Harry Potter! Sono contenta del mio acquisto anche se avrei usato un tessuto diverso, perché il vestito è un pò lucido e si può rovinare facilmente! Beh, dopo tutto, non è di cattiva qualità e non ho speso molto quindi sono soddisfatta! (credo che il mio prossimo ordine sarà la  Baroque Pipe Organ Series, che mi sembra adatta per l'inverno!)

A couple of days ago I've received my order from Fanplusfriend! I've ordered the Castle Innocent Op in navy x silver + matching headbow, it's their newest series and I have to say that I really like the print! I've taken some pics so I can show you! The print has a carriage, a castle (of course!), a unicorn, some pixies or fairies and so on, but one of the details I like the most is the deer! It reminds me of Harry Potter's Patronus! I'm happy about my purchase even if I would have used a different fabric, because the dress is a bit shiny and it can be easily damaged! Well, after all, it's not bad quality and I didn't pay a lot so, I'm satisfied! (I think that my next order will be Baroque Pipe Organ Series, it seems suitable for winter!)

Anche se Fanplus non è un brand, come posso dire? ..diciamo con la "B" maiuscola, non mi importa perché a me i loro vestiti piacciono! XD Ed è bello vedere che stanno crescendo e migliorando!

Even if Fanplus is not a brand, how can I say? ..with a capital "B", I don't care because I like their clothes! XD It's nice to see that they're growing and improving!

The Charles Dickens Museum

Hello my Victorians!

Questo sarà l'ultimo post riguardo la mia estate a Londra, spero vi piaccia e spero vi siano piaciute anche le due entry precedenti :) allora cominciamo! Uno dei più grandi romanzieri dell'era vittoriana - come di sicuro sapete - fu Charles Dickens, penso che quasi ogni studente conosca almeno uno dei suoi romanzi: Oliver Twist, Grandi Speranze, David Copperfield, il Circolo Pickwick e così via... beh, ho studiato le sue opere a scuola e l'ho "incontrato" molte volte durante la mia esperienza universitaria e quest'anno posso aggiungere alla lista di aver visitato la sua casa XD Il Charles Dickens Museum è una casa-museo molto carina a Doughty Street, n°48 ed è davvero una delle case che Dickens ha avuto durante la sua vita. La stazione metro più vicina è Russel Square e una volta lì abbiamo avuto problemi per arrivare al museo perché ho seguito le indicazioni sbagliate XD In sostanza, siamo arrivati ad un'altra Dickens House, ma non era QUELLA Dickens House!!! Comunque, dopo molte risate, siamo arrivati al posto giusto finalmente!

This will be the last entry about my summer in London, I hope you'll like it and I hope you liked the previous two entries as well :) so let's begin! One of the greatest novelist of the Victorian era - as you surely know - was Charles Dickens, I guess that almost every student knows at least one of his novels: Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, David Copperfield, the Pickwick Papers and so on... well, I studied his works at school and I've "met" him many times during my academic experience and this year I can add to my list that I've visited his house XD The Charles Dickens Museum is a very nice house-museum in Doughty Street, n°48 and it's really one of the houses that Dickens had during his lifetime. The nearest underground station is Russell Square and once there, we had trouble getting to the Museum because I've followed the wrong directions XD Basically, we arrived at another Dickens House but, it wasn't THAT Dickens House!!!! Anyway, after a lot of laughing, we got to the right place at last!

La casa è suddivisa in più piani:
The House is divided into many floors:
-Piano interrato/Lower Ground
-Piano terra/Ground Floor
-Primo Piano/1st Floor
-Secondo Piano/2nd Floor
-Terzo Piano/3rd Floor

La cucina, la lavanderia e la cantina dei vini sono al piano interrato. La sala da pranzo é al piano terra, di sopra ci sono: il salotto e lo studio di Dickens al primo piano, le camere e il bagno al secondo piano e la camera della servitù al terzo piano.

The kitchen, the laundry and the wine cellar are downstairs. The dining room is on the ground floor, upstairs there are: the living room and Dickens' study on the first floor, chambers and bathroom on the second floor and the servants' room on the third floor.

La cosa più interessante è che, sebbene alcuni oggetti siano repliche, ci sono anche molte cose originali, specialmente gli appunti di Dickens e le prime edizioni delle sue opere!

The most interesting thing is that, even though some objects are replicas, there is also a lot of original stuff, especially Dickens' notes and 1st editions of his works!

La visita è stata molto piacevole ed è terminata con una piccola mostra! Comunque, se siete fan di Dickens o anche se non lo siete, vi consiglio questo Museo, anche perché potete visitare una vera casa vittoriana! Mi è davvero piaciuta, con le sue scale e le sue finestre *-*

The visit was very nice and ended with a little exhibition! Anyway, if you're a Dickens fan or even if you are not, I recommend this Museum, also because you can visit a real Victorian house! I really loved it, with its stairs and windows *-*

The Fan Museum

Bonsoir my dear Victorians!

Come state? :) Oggi sono un pò stanca e volevo scrivere un nuovo post perché lo trovo molto rilassante XD Comunque, ho deciso di scrivere riguardo al Fan Museum (Museo del Ventaglio), che ho visitato mentre passavamo la giornata a Greenwich! Non ero mai stata a Greenwich ma ora posso dire che è un posto davvero bello, è patrimonio dell'Unesco, il che significa che è protetto, specialmente perché è la sede del Primo Meridiano della Terra! Beh, il Fan Museum non ha niente a che fare con queste cose geografiche ma è davvero molto carino! Ci sono molti tipi diversi di ventagli, fatti di materiali differenti e di diverse forme! In più, mi è piaciuto molto il fatto che le signore dello staff erano molto amichevoli, ci hanno dato una guida specifica da seguire e alcune spiegazioni prima di cominciare la visita e alla fine abbiamo fatto una bella chiacchierata (ho detto loro che ero innamorata di tutto quello che è vittoriano e sono rimaste molto colpite XD ed erano felici che ci fosse piaciuta la visita). Ora vi mostro qualche foto! :)

How are you? :) Today I'm a bit tired and I wanted to write a new entry because is so relaxing XD Anyway, I've decided to write about The Fan Museum, that I visited while we were spending our day in Greenwich! I had never been to Greenwich but now I can say that is a really beautiful place, it's a Unesco landmark, that means that is protected, especially because the Prime Meridian of the Earth is there! Well, the Fan Museum has nothing to do with this geographic stuff, but it's very nice indeed! There are a lot of different kind of fans, made of several materials and in different shapes! Besides, I really liked the fact that the ladies of the staff were very friendly, they gave us a specific guide to follow and some explanations before starting the visit and, at the end of it, we had a nice chat ( I told them that I was in love with everything that is Victorian and they were quite impressed XD and they were glad that we enjoyed the visit). Now I'll show you some pics! :)

Alla fine abbiamo potuto visitare questa carinissima Orangerie che utilizzano per lezioni di ventaglio ed eventi!

Finally we could visit this gorgeous Orangery that they use for fan-lessons and events!
