La fine dell'estate è vicina (anche se quest'anno non è nemmeno cominciata!) quindi se vi state già chiedendo cosa farete adesso che l'aria inizia ad essere frescolina e quando le foglie cambieranno colore.... eccoli qui, i nuovi eventi per Settembre e Ottobre! :)

'800 in Villa - Villa Olmo (Como) 8.06.2014

Bonsoir my Victorians!

L'8 Giugno ho partecipato a questo grande evento che ha avuto luogo a Villa Olmo, una Villa molto famosa di Como (vicino a dove abito). E' stata una collaborazione tra Marco Di Lauro di Magia Mask e Victorian & Romantic Italian Revival. Ci sono state danze storiche e un picnic serale. L'evento era gratis, quindi tutti potevano partecipare o venire a dare un'occhiata (specialmente i turisti erano molto interessati!). Dopo una grande entrata in battello, siamo stati accolti alla Villa e abbiamo fatto una petite promenade prima di lasciare i nostri cestini da picnic sotto i grandi alberi nel parco. Poi, Marco Di Lauro ha presentato l'evento e ha cominciato a spiegare le danze storiche alla folla. Più tardi c'è stato anche il contest per Miglior Costume (Maschile, Femminile, Coppia e Acconciatura). Faceva davvero molto caldo ma è stato veramente bello, mi sono divertita molto e così anche il mio ragazzo e i nostri amici. Molti fotografi hanno immortalato la giornata e il giorno seguente, c'era un articolo sul giornale locale, La Provincia. Diceva che erano presenti più di 300 figuranti! Non potevo crederci! :)

On June 8 I attended this huge event that took place at Villa Olmo, a very famous Villa in Como (close to where I live). It was a collaboration between Marco Di Lauro of Magia Mask and Victorian & Romantic Italian Revival. We had historical dancing and a picnic in the evening. The event was free, so anyone was able to attend or come to take a look (especially tourists were very interested!). After a great entrance by boat, we were welcomed at the Villa and took a petite promenade before leaving our picnic baskets under the big trees in the park. Then, Marco Di Lauro introduced the event and started explaining the historical dancing to the crowd. Later we also had a contest for Best Costume (Male, Female, Couple and Hairstyle). It was really hot and sunny but it was really great, I enjoyed myself a lot, and so did my boyfriend and our friends. Many photographers immortalized the day and the day after, an article was on the local newspaper La Provincia. It said that more than 300 walkers on were there! I couldn't believe it! :)

Romantic Remembrance Gala: Midnight Masquerade 17.05.2014 Villa Antona Traversi (Meda)

Bonjour my Victorians!

E' già passata una settimana dal Gala! Che tristezza! :( E' stata davvero una serata fantastica, specialmente quando con il calare della notte tutto sembrava magico! :) Il mio vestito era pronto due ore prima di andar via quindi non ho potuto caricarlo qui, ma adesso vi farò vedere qualche foto (foto di Thomas Bunge, è bravissimo!)
Alla Villa Antona Traversi (Meda) siamo stati accolti all'entrata da alcune maschere bellissime (di Magia Mask Como) e poi da Alessandra e Arianna - di Victorian & Romantic Italian Revival - che stavano registrando tutti gli ospiti. Dopo la registrazione, ci siamo fermati al photo corner (le foto del photo corner arriveranno presto). Questa volta il tempo era così bello che stare nel giardino del chiostro è stato piacevolissimo. Sono state allestite delle tavole rotonde per la cena e ci siamo divertiti molto con "vecchi" e nuovi amici! (colgo ancora l'occasione per salutarvi tutti!!!) :) Dato che indossavamo tutti delle maschere a volte era davvero difficile riconoscersi! Mi dispiace perché so di essermi persa qualcuno! Sono rimasta davvero colpita da tutti gli outfit fantastici che ci circondavano, questo tema flora & fauna è stato decisamente un successo! :)
Molti ospiti venivano dall'estero, come l'alternative model La Esmeralda e Father Sebastiaan, che ha creato "zanne vampiresche" a chi aveva prenotato l'appuntamento con lui.
Dopo cena, è stata l'ora delle danze storiche! Marco Di Lauro (Magia Mask Como) ha tenuto una lezione speciale nella sala affrescata al piano di sopra ed è stato bello vedere tutti i presenti che provavano a capire i numerosi passi, si impegnavano davvero tanto e la danza è stata bellissima! Magari prenderò qualche lezione anch'io! :) Poi, è stato il momento di trasformare la stanza in pista da ballo e il Dj ha fatto un ottimo lavoro (mi hanno detto, fino alle 2.30 del mattino!)
Dopo mezzanotte hanno rivelato i vincitori del contest per il Miglior Costume e sfortunatamente la notte è volata via in un soffio! :(
Grazie ancora, Arianna e Alessandra per questa serata speciale!! :) Sto già aspettando il prossimo Gala!

Il prossimo evento sarà tra due settimane, a Villa Olmo (Como), una collaborazione speciale con Marco Di Lauro e Magia Mask, quindi prepariamoci al picnic e ad altre danze! :)

A week has already passed since the Gala took place! It's so sad! :( It was really an amazing night, especially when the night fell and everything became magical! :) My dress was ready two hours before leaving so I wasn't able to upload it here but, now I'll show you some pictures (photos by Thomas Bunge, he's so talented!)
At Villa Antona Traversi (Meda) we were greeted at the entrance by beautiful masks (from Magia Mask Como), and then by Alessandra and Arianna - of Victorian & Romantic Italian Revival - that were checking in all guests. After that, we stopped at the photo corner (pics from the photo corner are coming soon). This time the weather was so nice, that we enjoyed a lot our staying in the courtyard garden. Round tables were arranged for dinner and we had a great time with "old" and new friends! (hello ladies and gentlemen!!!!) :) We were all wearing masks so sometimes it was really hard to recognize people! I'm sorry because I know that I missed someone! I was really stunned by all the great outfits that we had around, this flora & fauna theme was definitely a success! :) Many guests were coming from abroad, such as the alternative model La Esmeralda and Father Sebastiaan, who created "vampire fangs" to those who had a reserved appointment with him.
After dinner, it was time for historical dancing! A special lesson was given by Marco Di Lauro (Magia Mask Como) in the frescos room upstairs and it was nice to see all people trying to understand many steps, they were trying hard and the dancing was great! Maybe I'll take some lessons too! :) Then it was time to turn the room into a dancefloor and the Dj did a great job (until 2.30 in the morning, I was told!)
After midnight they revealed the winners of the Best Costume Contest, and unfortunately the night flew away so quickly! :(
Thank you again, Arianna and Alessandra for this special night!! :) I'm already looking forward to the next Gala!

The next event will be in two weeks, at Villa Olmo (Como), a special collaboration with Marco Di Lauro and Magia Mask, so let's get ready to have a picnic and more dancing! :)

[Gala Dress Update #4] Accessori/Accessories!

Bonsoir my Victorians!

Un aggiornamento veloce riguardante lo status del mio abito per il Gala: NON ANCORA FINITO
Quindi XD concentriamoci sugli accessori questa volta!
Come potete vedere indosserò un sacco di accessori verdi! Tutto è verde per questo Gala! XD
Ho trovato gli orecchini e le mollette per capelli a forma di farfalla in un negozio che si chiama Stella Z, mentre la collana e il braccialetto sono un regalo del mio ragazzo. Avevo già gli anelli, l'anello a sinistra è quello preso lo scorso inverno, dalla ragazza carinissima di SP573 Shop.

A quick update about my Gala dress' status: NOT FINISHED YET
So XD let's focus on accessories this time!
As you can see I'm going to wear a lot of green accessories! Everything is green for this Gala! XD

I found earrings and butterfly-shaped hair pins at a shop called Stella Z, while the necklace and the bracelet are a gift from my boyfriend. I already had the rings, the ring on the left is the one I got last winter, from the lovely girl of SP573 Shop

Ho fatto anche una foto alla mia testa con tanto di farfalle ed edera. Credo che aggiungerò più edera per ottenere un headdress GIGANTE (anche se non credo entrerò in macchina XD)
Cosa ne pensate? Vi piace? :)

I also took a pic of my head with butterflies and ivy. I think I'll add more ivy to have a HUGE headress (even if I don't think I'll get in the car XD)

Villa Arconati 6.04.2014

Bonsoir my Victorians!

Come state? Spero stiate meglio di me dal momento che la notte scorsa avevo un terribile mal di testa e soffro di allergie (maledetta primavera XD). Comunque, prima di tutto ciò, domenica scorsa ho potuto visitare Villa Arconati, vicino Bollate, qui nel nord Italia. Questa Villa non è sempre aperta per le visite quindi è stata una grande opportunità! Abbiamo visitato la Villa e i giardini, dove Real Time Tv ha girato il programma "Bake Off Italia". E' un peccato che la Villa debba tirare avanti solo con donazioni e offerte! La chiamano la "Versailles di Milano" perché è molto grande e bella, ma ha bisogno di qualche intervento di restauro! Se avete occasione di andare alla Villa il prossimo weekend, sarà presente anche il pasticcere Ernst Knam!

How are you? I hope you feel better than me since my head was in pain last night and I suffer from allergies (damn you spring XD). Anyway, before all of this, last Sunday I was able to visit Villa Arconati, near Bollate, here in the north of Italy. This Villa is not always open for visits, so it was a great chance! We visited the Villa and then the gardens, where the show "Bake Off Italy" was shot by Real Time Tv. It's a pity that this Villa has to keep going only by donations and offers! They call it the "Versailles of Milan" because it's very big and beautiful but, it needs some restoration work! If you have the chance to go to the Villa next weekend, the pastry chef Ernst Knam will be there!
