Hello my Victorians!
Ecco la entry riguardante la mostra "Sherlock Holmes - The man who never lived and will never die"! Ha aperto i battenti al Museum of London lo scorso 17 Ottobre, ero molto contenta perché amo tantissimo Sherlock Holmes e tutti gli adattamenti che hanno fatto/stanno facendo. Inoltre, sono parecchio appassionata della serie BBC Sherlock e sapevo che alcuni oggetti scenici originali sarebbero stati esposti lì :) Non potevo perdere quest'occasione!
Il prezzo è 12£ (con donazione) e la mostra chiuderà il 15 Aprile 2015. Le foto sono, ancora una volta, vietate.

Here's the entry about "Sherlock Holmes - The man who never lived and will never die" exhibition! It opened at the Museum of London on October 17, I was so happy because I really love Sherlock Holmes and all the screen adaptations they made/are making. Besides, I'm very fond of BBC Sherlock and I knew some original props would have been displayed there :) I could not miss this chance!
Admission is 12£ (with donation) and the exhibition will close on April 15, 2015. Pictures are, once again, forbidden.

Come ho già detto per l'altra mostra, non pensate ad una mostra grandissima, ma se vi piacciono Sherlock Holmes e Arthur Conan Doyle l'apprezzerete molto! Per entrare alla mostra, si deve sgattaiolare attraverso un passaggio segreto tra alcune librerie! Una volta dentro, sarete accolti dai tantissimi adattamenti di Sherlock Holmes su degli schermi appesi ai muri: Rupert Everett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Downey Junior, Jeremy Brett e molti altri (devo dire che questa parte era parecchio affollata!). A seguire, iniziava la parte dei manoscritti, con scritti di Edgar Allan Poe, che ha dato il via all'idea del detective privato nel suo racconto breve: "I Delitti della Rue Morgue". Dentro diverse teche erano esposti i lavori di Arthur Conan Doyle e alcuni dei suoi oggetti personali, come la tabacchiera e i sigari (i suoi tratti distintivi!). Un'altra parte della mostra riguardava Londra e la periferia, dove Sherlock Holmes ha seguito molti dei suoi casi e ha usato le sue reti di aiutanti. Molto ben rappresentata anche la Londra avvolta dalla nebbia, ho persino cercato in negozio la riproduzione di una bellissima mappa della città, che ho visto durante il giro, ma sfortunatamente non era disponibile! :(
L'ultima parte riguardava Sherlock Holmes, maestro del travestimento e tutte le sue abilità (e carenze), anche la sua dipendenza da droghe. Di Sherlock BBC erano esposti: "The Wall of Rats" dall'episodio "La Bara Vuota", una delle vestaglie da camera e soprattutto il cappotto e la sciarpa di Sherlock (ero in adorazione! XD)
As I already said for the other exhibition, don't think about a big exhibition but, if you like Sherlock Holmes and Arthur Conan Doyle you will really appreciate it! You have to sneak in a secret passage among bookshelves for entering the exhibition! Once you're in, you will be welcomed by many adaptations of Sherlock Holmes on screens hanging on the walls: Rupert Everett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Downey Junior, Jeremy Brett and many others (I have to say that this part was very crowded!). Then, the manuscripts part began, with works by Edgar Allan Poe, who started the idea of a private detective in his short story: "The Murders in the Rue Morgue". In different cases, works by Arthur Conan Doyle and some of his personal belongings were displayed, such as his snuffbox and his cigars (his distinguishing features!). Another part of the exhibition was about London and the suburban area, where Sherlock Holmes has followed some of his cases and used his networks of helpers. Foggy London was very well portrayed, I also looked in the shop for a replica of a beautiful map of the city that I saw during the tour but, unfortunately, it wasn't available! :(
The last part was about Sherlock Holmes, master of disguise and all his skills (and shortcomings), even his drugs addiction. From BBC Sherlock these props were displayed: "The Wall of Rats" from the episode "The Empty Hearse", one of the dressing gowns and especially Sherlock's coat and scarf (I was in admiration XD)
Che posso dire? La mostra mi è piaciuta davvero un sacco! :) Se ne avete occasione andate a vederla! Inoltre, non perdete la Victorian Walk del Museo (potete trovare alcune foto in quest'album, quando ho visitato il Museo nel 2013
Museum of London).
Dopo la mostra sono volata al Madame Tussaud's, il famoso museo delle cere perché il giorno precedente avevano rivelato Cumberwax (XD)! E' stata una giornata tutta Sherlock! :)

What can I say? I enjoyed this exhibition a lot! :) You shall go and visit it if you have the chance! Also, don't miss the Victorian Walk of the Museum (you can find some pics in this album, when I visited the Museum in 2013
Museum of London).
After the exhibition I rushed to Madame Tussaud's, the famous wax museum, because Cumberwax (XD) had been revealed the day before! It was a really Sherlockian day! :)
